Evenpar and Aqua for All partner to improve access to clean water in South Africa

In a bid to address South Africa's pressing water scarcity issues, Evenpar Fund and Aqua for All announced a partnership aimed at increasing access to clean water in South Africa.

Evenpar Fund, a leading sustainable infrastructure investor, has invested in a water treatment plant specialised in processing polluted water in South Africa. This strategic collaboration forms part of Evenpar's broader investments in wastewater recycling infrastructure in partnership with South African developer My Water Treatment Services (MWTS).

The MWTS projects play a crucial role in treating polluted industrial, commercial and residential effluent water, converting it into process water or even into potable water at a later stage, which  contributes to SDG 6 and SDG 11.

Josien Sluijs, Managing Director of Aqua for All highlighted the need for joint efforts to tackle challenges exacerbated by climate change, particularly in emerging markets: “By leveraging our strengths, we can mobilise additional capital for impactful investments, thereby driving sector transformation. These challenges, further intensified by the effects of climate change, pose significant threats, especially in emerging markets".
