Despite concerted efforts by the Ethiopian government, the road to ensuring universal access to clean water and adequate sanitation remains fraught with significant challenges, including a daunting funding gap nearing US$3 billion.

In response to this, the government has underscored the critical need for attracting private capital for the WASH sector.

We are excited to share insights from our recent WASH Learning event in Ethiopia together with Fair & Sustainable!

This was the occasion to look back on the amazing outcomes of our complementary partnership. In the span of a year, we have:

  • Channeled 3.8 M USD into the WASH infrastructure, reaching +17.000 clients.
  • Tailored WASH products for households and SMEs
  • Equipped microfinance institutions for effective WASH implementation
  • Developed educational resources for sustainability building
  • Come up with strategies for sector expansion and future initiatives.

This event also allowed for knowledge sharing, unveiling market demands and recommendations for improving services and it concluded with a series of recommendations aimed at enhancing the impact of financial services in the WASH sector.
