Aqua for All will participate in this year's European Microfinance Week (EMW)2023 from 15 to 17 November in Luxembourg. The conference will bring together representatives of impact investors, financial institutions and international organisations. With over 40 sessions, EMW 2023 is a unique platform for sharing knowledge and fostering collaborations to advance financial inclusion.

How to engage with us?

  • ### Attend the**“Overcoming Risk Perceptions in WASH Investing”**session

This year, we have partnered with Oikocredit International, Incofin Investment Management, WaterEquity and the National Bank of Kenya to co-organise the session "Overcoming Risk Perceptions in WASH Investing". The session will be, held on 15 November at 15:30 CET. During the session, a panel of experts from the partner organisations will explore the complex relationship between inclusive finance and water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) initiatives.

  • ### Discuss with WASH investors in a sharing session (by invitation only)

The ‘’WASH Investors Sharing Session’’ on 16 November at 15:45 CET is organised by the WASH Action Group for its members. During the session, the action group members will share their experiences on transactions and deals. They will also highlight financial, operational, and impact outcomes information via the “inside the deal” structure. Joining the session is by invitation only. However, if you are attending EMW 2023 in Luxembourg and would like to participate in this session, please send an email to Owais Shafiq, Aqua for All’s Senior Impact Finance Officer and WASH Action Group Head at o.shafiq@aquaforall.org.

“We have seen an increased interest and participation in bridging the substantial gap in WASH sector financing in recent years . T here is , however, a knowledge gap on the sector’s opportunities and challenges that delay s investment decisions and financial flows . By actively participating in the e-MPF’s WASH Action Group, we contribute to bridging th is knowledge gap with coordinated actions, sharing experiences , generating insights, and tackling challenges . The e-MPF’s European Microfinance Week 2023 is the perfect setting to continue this conversation and ignite action towards catalysing private capital for water and sanitation. I look forward to the conversations, learning from others, and sharing our experiences. At Aqua for All , our goal is to drive sector transformation and increase access to finance for the sector, which in turn will accelerate access to water and sanitation services, especially for people on low incomes and living in rural areas in Africa and Asia,” said Owais Shafiq, Senior Impact Finance Officer of Aqua for All.
