Aqua for All and cewas launch WASH accelerator programme in Kenya

Aqua for All and cewas have partnered to take water and sanitation entrepreneurship in Kenya to the next level. Over the coming  two years, our programme ‘Accelerating Water Acceleration’ (AWA) will boost the scale-up of water, sanitation and water resource management enterprises in Kenya. Through AWA, local entrepreneurs will obtain  skills to improve their business practices and market opportunities. Besides, AWA will contribute to creating an enabling environment for sustainable water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) solutions.

AWA’s inception phase has just kicked-off and will last until May 2021. In this period, Aqua for All and cewas will identify funding partners, local implementing partners and eligible small and growing WASH enterprises within their regional networks.

Building local capacity

During the inception phase, AWA will identify a local organisation that will implement the acceleration programme. This implementing partner will receive technical assistance and will be involved in the programme design.

The implementation phase will start in June 2021 with a tailor-made, extensive training and support package for ten promising WASH enterprises to accelerate their journey towards scaling. This will make them more visible and attractive to public and/or private financiers.
